Antioxidants
It's been an extremely long time since I've actually sat down and typed in here. I've had a lot of moments of wanting to write but not really finding the guts to. Wait. Guts? Who would've thought someone would need courage to write on their own blog, eh? Here's a confession: I'm afraid of writing cr*p on here and so proceed to put off writing. Tch tch tch. But anyways, things have gotten a lot better since my last post:
1) I found a practicum site
-- two even! The Learning Tree and The Firefly Brigade
2) Emcee-ing the 11th Tour of the Fireflies wasn't so bad
-- I did something for the environment, yay!
3) The Tour was a success!
-- Biking is love!
4) I aced my practicum presentation on the Fireflies!
-- got to get to writing that paper now
5) Practicum at TLT is about to end
-- submission of requirements scheduled on Friday
6) Mother and brothers are finally home!!!!
Working some type of job (even if it wasn't some office job with a body clock that timed your every entry and exit) was truly an enlightening experience. You have to have some guts to have a job, the strength to love what you do, and the courage to wake up early every morning and face the new day with a smile. It can get tiring, seriously. There were multiple times that I felt close to burnout. But I found that the solution to becoming an old raggedy doll was simply knowing where your priorities lie. I had to skip evening varsity training sessions just so my body could cope. I reserved my weekends for arts and crafts, my calming and gratifying all-time favorite hobby. And I'd go out once in a while with some friends, over lunch or over dinner, just to catch up on things. It really is all about taking in the good and letting out the bad.
Now I really understand what they mean when they say work-life balance. I wonder how it'll go for me once it's time to find a real job?
