Life reminders

Two days after and your words ring in my ears. You wrote it in my yesterday, in my silence, my work. In my slumber, a whisper before deep sleep. A reminder of how each day should be. Something I know I have to do. Something easier said than done.
"And I in these lines say:
Like this I want you, love,
love, Like this I love you,
as you dress
and how your hair lifts up
and how your mouth smiles,
light as the water
of the spring upon the pure stones,
Like this I love you, beloved."

-
Pablo Neruda, from And because Love battles
I've got it under control. And all I ask for is strength and courage. Someday, I'll fall in love with everything again.

Here's a ticket for speeding

Just three days into school and already I'm feeling so tired. I'm uncertain as to whether it's just because I have yet to get used to this academic way of life once more or I'm probably harboring some anonymous extra psychological baggage. Or maybe it's just the weather? It's so hard sometimes to pinpoint these things. It takes time to probe and before you know it, time has ran out on you... you've probably fallen behind on your required readings as well.

A second remains a second; a minute is a minute. I don't quite understand how life became so fast paced. Five hours of sleep seems like a 30 minute nap to me these days. If there's speed reading, there's speed living -- and this is where the beautiful gets lost.

I'm writing myself secret letters

I guess my first day of class would've been a bit more lively if I had seen some beloved familiar faces who I've missed a lot over the summer. The two classes I had today were core subjects, meaning I was a stranger in a sea of semi-strangers. Being a shiftee made me a bit of a loner. Not that it's something I loathe. I'm fine. Just a bit lonely... or antisocial. Whichever, I'm missing the company of certain people.

I've got blisters on my feet from varsity training this eve. It's painful to walk. I take it as a sign I have to get used to the run of things now that school's back on, and fast.
